Abstract

Traces the historical displacement of Native Hawaiians from their land, accomplished by legal mechanisms rather than military actions. Problems of preserving the landholding and cultural heritage of the Native Hawaiian community; Legislative solutions similar to those afforded to Native Americans and Alaskan Natives.
